SGP Sustainability Certification

MEYERS RECEIVES SUSTAINABLE GREEN PRINTING PARTNERSHIP CERTIFICATION

Meyers, a premier manufacturer and expert design studio for printed packaging, labels, signage, retail displays and more, announced today that it recently received certification from the Sustainable Green Printing Partnership (SGP). SGP is the leading accreditation organization that promotes sustainability in printing practices and manufacturing operations. SGP certification is given to organizations that have met the rigorous standards of the criteria developed by the SGP. This is the only whole-facility certification program developed as a collaborative effort of the printing industry to define what it means to be a sustainable printer and to offer credible validation by a third party.

“This certification fits perfectly with our corporate values,” said Meyers President Chris Dillon. “Integrity is a central part of who we are, and integrity and sustainability are intertwined. This certification means we can continue to identify operational improvements and advance our sustainability efforts.”

Meyers has four main sustainability focus areas: manufacturing practices, materials, energy usage, and accreditations. The company’s sustainability goals include cultivating an environmentally conscious workplace; continuously working toward an energy-efficient facility; engaging in local community activities to minimize negative environmental impacts; implementing new technologies and methods to reduce, reuse and recycle; and providing clients with the expertise, materials, and solutions to help achieve their sustainability objectives.

“We’ve had sustainability initiatives at Meyers for decades,” said Matt Evers, senior vice president of business development and quality. “Meyers is committed to environmental compliance and stewardship with strong support from its employees, leadership, and owners. This allows Meyers to turn policy into action and create unique, sustainable printed solutions for the world’s leading brands.”

These print solutions range from folding carton packaging produced with sustainably sourced papers, to paper RFID key cards for the hospitality industry, recycling-friendly labels and more.

“There are so many consumers who want to live a more sustainable lifestyle, and we know our clients want to help make that possible,” said Michael Dillon, director of marketing. “Leveraging new compostable or biodegradable materials and committing to using only carbon-free electricity by the end of 2021 helps build a brighter future for all of us.”
